Yukon Digital Ranger w/2x24?
Has anyone swapped out lenses and used the low power for night time navigation? I like the 5 power for viewing, but night hiking/navigation possibilities hold a much stronger draw if it works, especially for only $24 extra!

The lenses on the Digital Ranger are not compatible with the NVMT lenses. The factory 5x lens is excellent, but not changeable.

Actually, they are interchangable. You would be better off buying the 1X lens. These units use a combination of optical and digital mag. So the 1X lens will deliver 2X mag.

Yukon Digital Ranger
The Digital Ranger does not have any additional lens systems. The factory 5X lens is the only magnification that comes with the unit.
The NVMT monoculars have additional lens systems but not the Digital Ranger.
Thanks,

Changing the lens will invalidate the warrenty but changing the lens is not harmful in itself. The Ranger uses the same lens family as the NVMT, it's actually a 3X lens with some native digital mag.
Why would you want reduced mag?
It gives a broader field of view for target/quarry detection, navigation or use behind a scope.
Yukon will probably produce a ranger based digital NVMT pretty soon anway.
