I have Sony digital HD video camera with excellent night vision recording at close range. Would a good IR illuminator enable me to use camcorder as night viewer as well as significantly increase video range? The resolution seems much better than my Bushnell Digital Stealthview.

IR would most likely help, but this is a question that should be asked to Sony.
