Having hard time selecting a Night Vision scope from our huge selection? Need to know the different between Gen 1 NV and Gen 2 NV

More Newbie advice needed

Like others on the forum, I live in Texas and have a bad Hog problem. I've been shooting them with my AR-15 with a 4-12 power, 50MM scope. Works OK on nights with a lot of moon, but having no luck with this setup on darker nights. I have a feeder set up about 165 yards from the house with 12V dusk to dawn light system with 9 led lights that shine under the feeder. With my present set up, I can see the hogs, but not the cross hairs. The scope has lighted cross hairs, but those things are useless. Question #1 is would the ATN Aries MK 410 be a good fit for what I'm trying to accomplish?? Or, would there be a better NV scope on the market in the $600 range? Also, would a NV scope allow you to scan a field for any hogs that might be out there like when I use binoculars, or is the field of view too narrow for doing that?? Thanks for any help or input anyone might have.

Mel and I have been speaking on the phone. We decided that a good course of action would be to keep his current equipment and add a green laser. This has been an excellent setup for people over run with hogs. I've asked Mel to keep us informed. Good luck, Mel.
