Monocular can't see through it

Monocular can't see through it

I was given an old Night Owl monocular. I put new batteries in it and the power on light comes on but you can not see through it, even if the power is off. It does not light up or turn green what so ever. I don't have anything invested in this but wanted to see if it is something simple that could be fixed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Give it a few minutes to warm up. Gen 1 night vision does not power up and start, instantly.
