I hunt hogs at night and I am tired of trying to used dim red lights to see them through a regular scope.
I hunt with a 450 Marlin Lever action
A few questions:
1) How can I use the same gun for night and daylight hunting without switching scopes?
2)Can you use NV goggles at night with a regular scope?
3) How do you sight in a NV scope if you cannot turn it on in the day time?
4) I read somewhere a Yukon scope will not hold up to the heavy recoil of a big bore rifle. True?
5) what other advice do you have for me?
My budget is strictly Gen 1. My typical shot at night is under 50 yards.
Thans in advance.
So you will need to go to a dedicated NV scope. The only model that I would suggest that might take the recoil of the 450 Marlin, and I have one so I know how much that mule kicks, would be the ATN 410 or 390. The difference in the two being that the 410 has higher magnification. The problem with these is that your eye must be right on the rubber cup and the recoil could give you an eyepiece on your eye socket. The ideal choice would be using a traditional day optic with the PS22 mounted on the objective, this would prevent that possible injury but would be a higher price.
Part number for a laser bore sighter?
I'll order as soon as I get a reply.
Are you commision based? should I mention your name so you get credit for the sale?
As for a bore sighter, I am partial to this model from Bushnell, Boresighter. This model will fit a .22-50 cal and has arbors for a 20 and 12 gauge.
Thanks for the offer, but I do not get a commission. I do have the greatest job in the world though. I get to talk about my hobbies for a living and show people the products they need to enjoy the same activities I do.
