You really wont be able to get the ideal reticle with a non NV EOTech. you can turn the reticle way down and try to get a sight picture but you run into the chance of it still drowning out the NV unit with too much blur effect.

EOTechs with NV capability have a "NV" button which drops the reticle to a very low setting without needing to scroll through all the brightness settings. It's a fast way to bring the sight to a perfect brightness for a NV unit.

I would personally go with a nice Gen 3 unit. We have the OPMOD PVS-14 that has a Gen 3 Pinnacle tube in it that is absolutely top notch. Head mountable, hand held, or weapons mountable, its very versatile. Can't go wrong with a PVS 14 for that distance and closer.

Ron,
Thanks for the post and the question, you can get the WPT in a 6015 which is a varient of the PVS14. the only thing the 6015 doesn't have is the manual gain. The WPT will serve you well and will be easier on the eyes vs the traditional green. Also regrading the Thor 320, also a great choice. You can't find a thermal scope with the same features or price from anyone else.
