Spartan MK410

Having a hard time selecting a Night Vision scope, goggle or monocular from our huge selection? Need to know the difference between Gen 1, 2, 3 and 4? Just ask!

Spartan MK410

I just bought a Spartan Mk410, and I am not happy. I expected it to be at least as good as my old AN/PVS-2 Starlight, but it only amplifies light about 30% of what the 45 year old unit will. Plus, it is not near as clear. This is unacceptable. Anyone has any comments?

Older scopes were very well made and usually equivalent to current gen 2 tube units. That ATN scope has a gen 1 intensifier tube so you will realistically expect to get about 75 yards recognition, maybe 100 under good ambient conditions. If you are not happy with the unit you can certainly return it. I would suggest going with a generation 2 intensifier tube model or possibly a digital model such as the N550 from Pulsar.

Also if you are not happy with your MK410, do to it no performaning as you thought a Gen 1 unit would, you can always get in touch with ATN and see if they can upgrade you to a Gen 2+ scope which will give about 150% imporvement over any Gen 1 product also it will perform better than a CCD Digital scope.
