OPMOD Gen3 HM

Having a hard time selecting a Night Vision scope, goggle or monocular from our huge selection? Need to know the difference between Gen 1, 2, 3 and 4? Just ask!

OPMOD Gen3 HM

Postby Dvldog on Mon Feb 25, 2013 4:48 pm

I am looking at the OPMOD Gen3 HM. The material says "Automatic IR"

I'm on a border watch, and IR is a give away. I must be able to control IR.

My question: is IR truly "automatic" or is there a control on/off on this unit?

Many thanks,

It does not state "automatic IR" for the OPMOD GEN 3 HM. In fact, there is no IR at all on this unit. It states, "auto brightness controll and auto bright light shut off", which refers to the brightness of the viewing screen. This is a steal for a third gen 64lp monocular.

Steve-Many thanks. I've looked at so many I must have confused the issue of "Automatic". The fact that it doesn't even have IR is so much the better. Let me scrape a couple of nickels together and order this unit in the next day or so.

Thanks again

Ok Steve. I just ordered on of these bad boys.

The operation dates are classified, but I'll make it a point to write up a review when I get back.

I'll road test before I go and I may get back to you on that.

Again, there is no IR on this unit. The automatic feature is for bright light shut off.
