Need help choosing best monocular setup

Postby kermit on Mon Nov 18, 2013 5:08 pm

I am looking to purchase a monocular that can be used in conjunction with a day scope as a night time firearm optic. I would prefer something that mounts to the objective lens of the scope so my cheek weld is not affected, but that is not a must. It must not affect my daytime zero. I basically want to be able to swap this between various rifles for daytime and night time shooting without constantly changing scopes or zero. I need to stay within $600 for the NV optic, mounting system and any IR illumination that may be needed. I don't plan to use this past 150 yards most likely within 100 yards; and naturally I want the best one I can get within my budget. What are my options? I am not knowledgeable about NV optics so am looking for help determining my options within my parameters. If anyone can offer some options I would be grateful.

The most affordable clip on NVD we carry for that application is the ATN PS22 for $1899. In the $600 price range you will be limited to generation one NV, and a dedicated NV scope or monocular. Unfortunately you cannot simply attach a monocular in front of a traditional day scope. There will be parallax shifts and the point of aim and point of impact will be off.
