Night Vision for Crossbow hunting

Postby patrickp on Thu Jun 29, 2006 9:27 am

I have a permit to hunt deer in an area 7 days a week 24 hours per day. I have legal permission to use my Parker crossbow. I am trying to decide how practical a night vision scope would be, if so which one. Budget is important. Hunting distance would be a shot max 50 yards.
Thanks Pat

Hi Patrick,

The Night Owl scope you were looking at is a good choice. A better choice
might be the mk390 because it
comes rearward closer to your eye.

Even if it's a nuisance permit, better check for legally using night vision
for game.

Since you're shooting so close, parallax will be a problem, as well as being
able to sight the scope in at close distances.
Aim Hard!

Hello Patric, I have a ATN MK 390 night vision scope. It is excellent. I warn you if you buy a night vision scope. I read online about people having problems of the scopes lose the mark after firing one time because of the gerk on a rifle when fired, then the next shot the scope is way off and they miss their target. This site says it only carried three scopes that they know will not do that. The ATN MK 390 is one of the good ones. I don't know any facts other than what i read. The ATN MK 390 is $ 499.00 and i can vouch that it is sweet on my crossbow. I am checking to find out if i can hunt hogs at night on private property. They are tearing up this guys property.I sure hope so. Are you in Florida? My e-mail address is
