Any suggestions?. I have been given a new model as above but it came with no instruction manual . I probably used it in the light and from reading other posts it looks as though it may be damaged beyond repair which is sad.Is it worth keeping ?Alternativly , where can I download an instuction manual? The little telescope on the side seems to have no useful function, what is it?
The little scope on the side is actually an IR (infrared) illuminator which produces a beam of infrared light. You can't see it, of course, but the Bushnell can, so it does extend the range of the Bushnell slightly.
Check the batteries on the NV first before giving up on it. Most NV devices have a built-in protector that shuts the tube off when exposed to a sudden bright light. _________________ ----------------------
