I see Peloi Riflescopes are gaining popularity in Europe and in the US, the 3-9x50 and the 1.5-6x50 both seem to be fairly robust and with 1/8 target turrets they are both quite versitile. Any recommendations as to which would be better for varmint shooting? From what I have read they seem to be a very high quality scope and for around USD120 they seem very reasonably priced.

Hi
Sorry, we have no information or plans to carry that line, but price is always a good indicator of quality. Any riflescope at $120 is going to be an economy grade model and nearly all riflescopes in this price range, regardless of brand, are made in China.
A 3-9x50 and 1.5-6x40 are really big game scopes, not true varmint scopes, though you could use the 3-9 for a lot of varmint work. For the basics on riflescopes, see our article at How to Choose a Riflescope , at http://www.opticsplanet.net/how-to-choose-riflescope.html _________________ ----------------------

They have a great range for a New Zealand company, I have one of their speciality scopes, a Peloi Viper 10-40x50 which cost me about $900 US and it is one of the best scopes I have owned. I also have a Peloi Huntsman 3-9x40 which is a great little scope, the optics outclass my Leupold and Burris for twilight shooting, I think it cost me about US$120. Nothing bad about them, they are good solid scopes that just happen to be well priced.

Joanie, sorry to correct you here but these are a high quality scope. I have three Peloi scopes and they are certainly not economy scopes. The latest one I bought is a Peloi Huntsman 3-9x40 vari-power and comparred to my Burris and Leupold scopes it is a better scope, the image is sharper and clearer and it works in light conditions the others are failing badly in. I am a pro shooter and have been shooting for 40 years so I would think my experience with many different scopes in a work environment should count for something.

Joanie...good to see that you consider one adverse comment sums it all up as long as it agrees with your uninformed opinion. Just to set things straight. I fail to see how Edward could have a bent crosshair when the reticle is etched by laser onto the optics, if were one of the models with a physical reticle then this could only happen if someone were to dismantle the scope and damage the reticle. The manufacturing process would not permit this happening, it is not even a statistical probability.. secondly we honour all warrantees and this person has not contacted us...Perhaps you could tell me why you have made comments about our scopes without solid research, it does not do your crediability alot of good, after all you represent a business just as we do so the least I would expect is some degree of decency...

You certainly have a right to add your comments and thoughts. This is a forum, after all. All we ask is that you do not use this forum for advertising.
As to my comment, it did not necessarily constitute agreement or disagreement; just that the customer (your customer) was rather complete in his review of your product. Furthermore, I stand by statement that price IS a good indicator of quality on ALL optical products. I think that, rather than chastising me, you should address the issues presented by your customer, directly. _________________ Thanks for posting with us

Seems weird that the Peloi company exec chooses to criticise the moderator for a bland comment instead of the dude who is trashing their product, big time. I think that says it all about Peloi and thier customer service. Give me a break.
