Hi,
We are looking into purchasing a rangefinder in order to measure tower height without having to climb the tower when we do inspections. With an average tower height of 250', we need to be able to trust that this tool would be giving us an accurate measurement (variation of 3' or less). Do you have any recommendations? Do rangefinders even work for measure vertical distance(height) or just horizontal distance?

Thank you

Hi

That kind of accuracy will require a high performance unit such as a Laser Technology TruPulse 200 Laser Rangefinder or an Opti-Logic 1000LH Laser Range Finder Hypsometer.

The Monarch Gold 1200 from Nikon will give you half yard accuracy up to 550 yards.
