I AM NOT COMPUTER SAVY IN AM NOT A ELECTRONIC WIZ. I AM PLANNING ON GOING TO A SWAMP IN SAVANNAH GA. THIS WEEKEND TO HUNT. HOW DIFFICULT WOULD IY BE FOR ME TO LEARN TO OPPERATE Magellan eXplorist 400 recreational GPS receiver? IS IT A MATTTER OF PUSHING A BUTTON WHEN YOU START AND PUSHING A BUTTON WHEN YOU STOP?, AND THEN MEARLY FOLLOWING YOU PATH BACK? OR IS THERE MORE TO IT?
A GPS is like a camera or a computer. It's loaded with menus and options. You need to read the manual and practice.
You store information on a GPS via "waypoints". Your starting position is always stored as a waypoint, then various points on the trail that are significant, such as forks and other trouble spots. This is standard operating procedure on a GPS, though many models now have a function that maps the route as you go.
