Leupold RXB-IV digital laser rangefinder binocular - Help!

Hi!

I just got the mentioned item from Opticsplanet

However, there's one question. According to Leupold's website below

it says the interpupillary distance is 58 - 72 mm. Also on the same page the picture on the top right hand corner shows the hunter with the bino and the center portion slightly ajar.

Is it right to move open the 2 halves to adjust the interpupillary distance? Can somebody advise?

Since you just purchased a product I'm interested in, you might be able to answer a question about it: is it possible to avoid the highly cluttered view of the display with all the information on TBR, yardage, the reticle etc? What I would primarily like to have is a good reticle and a reading of the yardage. The TBR thingy seems a little too gadgety for my taste, so I would prefer to have it turned off most of the time. Is this possible?

FI, I'm not a hunter. I bought the bino because it gives info such as distance, elevation and a compass for my general purpose use. As the other info are more hunting-related I've them turn off.

To answer your question. You can choose the type of reticle you want, turn off info you do not require and, also, the display will appear for some seconds after which it'll goes off. IMO, the distance, elevation and compass info do not pose much clutter on the screen.

The biggest disadvantage as compared to my Bushnell Yardage Pro Quest is that it does NOT have a center wheel for focus adjustment

And what's your general take of the product - is it heavy compared to a good pair of regular binoculars? And the quality feeling in general?

The Leupold weighs about 652gm vs my Bushnell which weighs more than 900 gm as quoted from specs

Hence, it is a relief for me.

The body of the Leupold is encased in hard rubber-like material, smaller and lighter which makes it easier to hold whereas the Bushnell is encased in hard plastic, larger and heavier.

For focusing the Leupold comes with independent adustable eyepieces

Thanks again! Seems like you're pretty pleased with the product. I'm kind of indecisive in terms of what to buy; I normally don't like compromise products (and I guess a rangefinder bino is a compromise in some ways) but I also know that I don't want a lot of stuff to carry around when in the field. Having such a lot of information from one piece must be a good thing.

Yes, I'm very pleased with my Leupold purchase.

If this Leupold comes earlier to the market I would have it over the Bushnell which is just a pure rangefinder only
