I am looking for a good rangfinder to use for deer hunting. I will need it to range out to 500 yards max. I hunt from a deer stand 30 ft high. I am not looking to spend more than $350. Of course if there is something more affordable that would do the trick(100-$200), this would be better. I just want something with a nice clear view, not to complicated, and very reliable.
Thanks for you help

Re: Deer Hunting Rangefinder
Hi
One of the all time greats is the Nikon Monarch 800. You will not find a simpler, easier to use rangefinder or one with a better track record. It will not have a slope feature, but it will also not have complicated ballistic software, a screen full of confusing data and reticles and it will not require a college course to operate. All you will see, on a bright easy to read screen is one number - the range. Be my first choice at that price.
Another favorite of mine and also a rangefiner with a good track record is the Bushnell Elite 1500. It gets you more range than the Nikon and that extra performance pays off under less than ideal conditions and is a better choice for open country. It is physically larger than the Nikon, but it is also simple and easy to operate. As with all Elite Bushnell products, it is as good as it gets in terms of quality and you also get that great Bushnell customer service to back it up.
