Are LRF's good in wooded/forested areas?

Postby D.G. on Wed Feb 17, 2010 12:23 pm

I need a reliable way to estimate plant patch sizes in the understory of forested landscapes (for an invasive plant species survey). Are laser range finders appropriate for use in the woods?

You may use them in the woods depending on your conditions. Lasers need a reflective surface to bounce off of. This article, How to Buy a Laser Rangefinder may help you understand a bit more.
