Compare Bushnell YP 500 and Trophy, please...
Main use will be for golf.
Looking for a unit that has Scan mode, takes "standard" batteries (9V, AAA, etc. No weird button batteries.), and is sub-$200. So, these two seem to be the choices.
However, I can't seem to tell if the 500 definitely has Scan mode. Does it?
And, while I know that the Trophy is supposed to replace the 500, the specs/options look different. Can you tell me what all of the differences are?
Which is the better unit for my uses? (ie. Which would you buy for my use, and why?)
Which will give me the greater range to a golf flag?
Thank you. I look forward to any help that you can offer.

Hi Steve
Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com.
The Bushnell Yardage Pro Trophy is the new replacement for the Bushnell Yardage Pro 500. The Trophy is lighter and more compact and is specifically designed for one handed operation.
As with computers, this technology is constantly being updated. In general, it usually pays to buy the latest version offered by the manufacturer.

Thanks. Sounds like you're recommending the Trophy.
Just for the knowledge, though... Can you veridy wether or not the 500 has Scan mode?
Thanks, again.
