Flatlander
I am from North Dakota and shoot on flat land most of the time. I had a rangefinder a few years ago and was really disappointed in its performance. Cabelas was nice enough to take it back. Have they improved much since then? I want something that will take me to around 600 yards. There isn't much reflective objects in the flat land. Should I give it a try again.

Hi
No LRF is going to give you a reading on a deer or even an elk at 600 yards consisitently, despite advertising to the contrary. Out in the field, you will need to target a nearby, larger target at anything much beyond 300 yards if you want consistent performance, regardless of the model. That's from feedback from many, many customers, even those using high end models from Swarovski and Leica.
