I used the Bushnell 450 Range Finder today for the first time; I was unable to rely on the distance readings. In particular, I was at the 150 marker & the reading on the range finder said 250 yards; what am I doing wrong - this was a constant problem throughout my round of golf today.....
I sad : (
inaccurate distance readings

Hi
You may be trying to target the flag and that is a tough target for any LRF, despite manufacturer advertising. Under ideal conditions, with the flag fully unfurled in the wind, the 450 might just pick up the flag. Most likely, though, it is missing the flag and picking up something in the background. To be honest, most users just target a nearby, larger object, rather than the flag.
To check accuracy, target a large reflective object at a known distance such as a car or building. If you still do not get an accurate reading, you have a defective unit.
