I am looking to buy a laser range finder for measuring forest density. There seem to be a lot of options, but none with the right specifications, and I was hoping you could give me some advice. I am looking for something that is very accruate (better than the +/- 1 yard that seems to be the standard option) and can measure at close range (closer than 5 yards, which also seems to be about standard). I would like to find something under $500. The maximum distance is not as important, certainly 1000 yards would be plenty. An ability to measure tree height as well would be nice, but is not a must. Do you have anything you could recommend?
Thanks very much.
Nothing in that price range with that kind of accurcay. Closest we can come is the Laser Technology TruPulse 200 Laser Rangefinders Hypsometers w/ Computer Interface Data Port.
