Hi there!

I have a Meade 90 EC. Just got myself a Barlow 2x lense - my question is - How does one use a barlow exactly? (ok maybe a dumb question, but I could use the help!).
Appreciate your feed back...
Cheers!!

Hi

All questions are welcomed on our forum. After all, no one is born with a knowledge of optics.

A barlow is really a simple thing to use. Just remove your eyepiece from the focuser. Insert the barlow into the focuser. Insert the eyepiece into the barlow. In other words, the barlow goes between the eyepiece and the telescope.

The only real caution is not to overdo on magnification. When used with a a high magnification eyepiece (one marked with a small number), a barlow may give you more magnification than your 90 can handle. For best results with a 90mm scope, keep magnifications below 175x on nights of good seeing (with or without a barlow) and you will be happy with the image quality.
