Purchased both Maks from O/P within the last few years. I use and
enjoy both scopes very much. Question: I would like to wring as much performance out of the LOMO 95 as possible for 1k yd target spotting.
Can you recommend a reasonably priced wide angle & long eye relief
eyepiece(s). Dismall atmospherics is of course a limiting consideration.
ps. What's up with LOMO PLC? Why don't you carry the 95 anymore? |

Hi
Have some bad news on the LOMO. Due to some military contracts, LOMO has recently decided to re-tool their factories and discontinue production of all tlescopes. At this point, no one is saying if they will bring back their telescopes in the future, but for now all we have left are the LOMO 60 and 70. Once our stock on these is gone, they, too, will go the way of the 95.
For eyepieces, just about any Televue will do a great job, if you can afford one. If not, I have been pleased with the Meade Series 5000 Super Plossls, http://www.opticsplanet.net/meade-series500-plossl-eyepcs125.html These offer a nice 60 degree field, though eye releif drops off quickly below 20mm. If eye relief is an issue, try the Celestron X-Cel, http://www.opticsplanet.net/celestron-telescopes-eyepieces-xcel-series.html _________________ ----------------------
