In doing some cleaning on an RDS of mine, I disassembled the RDS. I noticed that there was a very small piece of material over the LED inside the sight that I lost in the process. I notice now, without it, that the LED inside the sight is far more visible from the front.

I'm trying to find out what exactly it was so I can replace it. I thought it may just be a cover with a pin-hole, or a filter of some kind.

This RDS itself is just a generic cheap one for airsoft.

regards,
JH

Dear JH,
Thank you for your interest in www.OpticsPlanet.com. I can't say I've ever needed to know what that filter was before. As I have now found out, it is a cut off filter that is designed for stopping the red light used. Your best bet would be to contact the manufacturer of the sight, as they may be able to send you another filter, or possibly repair the scope. If you would like, we have many red dot sights available, if you would rather get a new one, http://opticsplanet.net/red-dot-scopes.html.

I hope I've been able to help.
