Thanks for all the advice!

I did have an adapter to go from the .965" focus tube to 1.25" (I have used it for putting the eye piece "straight" onto the scope.

I just ordered the Meade erector.

This should hold me for a month or so till I can recover from the transmission going out on the car (then I will get the Bushnel or Lomo ... still haven't decided which is best for target shooting).

I did learn a lot from this! I didn't know cheap scopes had the images inverted! I also didn't realize there was such a difference in optics (or just how poor a scope could be).
