We are in talks with Counter Sniper as we speak. Curious company, and almost no reviews anywhere on the internet. Great full page glossy advertisements in many of the gun rags, but I haven't found anyone that has actually used one. The company seems like they inflate their retail prices to the point of ridiculousness. Military contract overruns? Another curiosity. We're continuing our research, and I sure welcome any and all comments on the product and their company. I've seen the scopes at SHOT, but you can't tell a lot by holding them in your hands. I really don't know what to think yet. Sorry I can't help more with your question at this time.

Countersniper Optics

Postby werner52 on Fri Oct 17, 2008 9:32 pm

Thx Steven, for getting back to my message as quickly as you did...I emailed Mr. Frank Miller who is President/CEO at Dark Ops Holdings who owns Countersniper Gunsight Optics Corp. he told me that Countersniper will have some New Optics at the January Shot Show 2009 but he advised that he couldn't go into detail on the New Products....only that He will send me a 2009 catalog when the catalogs become available..I gave him my address.....I also asked where these scopes were made and where the glass was made...he Stated that the Countersniper Optics were USA manufactured and the Glass was of German Manufacture..Which is the Same Company that produces the glass for IOR Valdada.( Schott Glasswerk of Germany )...If anyone has any more questions, they can email Mr. Miller at frank@darkopsholdings.com

The facts are in. I purchased a cso 2-16x44 (500.00$) and rings (70.00$) on good word from the so called experts at what used to be my favorite gun shop that this was a well crafted scope. So I mounted it on my Bushmaster varminter and headed to the range. The first part to break was the glass in the forward lens cover, it fell out when I flipped it open and broke on the ground in front of many onlookers. Zeroing this tire knocker they call a scope was a chore. (About thirty rounds) It walked around the paper like I was shooting drunk. The tightest group I shot was about 2" @ 25 meters. Maybe it was the lousy eye relief. Anyway, after two shooting trips my side focus knob came loose from the inside, it hasnt fallen off yet but it looks promissing. And the set screw that holds the index dial on the power magnification came loose and milled its own channel on the inside ring it was supposed to be turning. Now it stops turning at 4 power. I guess i'l have to tear it apart and clean all those burrs myself since I didnt mail in my warranty card within 10 days like I think it says, its hard to tell. They put a dark black stamp over that part that says "contract overrun". Nice placement. Oh yah and when I took the rings off the scope there were crease lines in the scope tube. The scope rings were milled different. the top rings werent 30 mm. All in all I would not recomend this scope to anyone. Ok, maybe a truck driver that needs a spare tire knocker, it has a good weight to it. Im gonna go throw this thing at a Democrat now, later.
