is BUSHNELL TROPHY SCOPE good for the Springfield .30-60?
What kind of mount is the best?
Is the Springfield Armory Scope mount M65038 M-6 Rail Kit or MA5038 1-Piece Base M-1 Rail Kit good for the BUSHNELL TROPHY SCOPE and the .30-60 Springfield?
I have no idea about rifles, scopes or mounts. The scope is be a gift for my father in law for his 60th birthday.
Thank you very much for your help

I'm not one of the experts here. But.
There have been a lot of different rifles that could be called a Springfield 30-06. Who is the manufacturer and what is the model number of the rifle?
As far as the Bushnell Trophy, it should be as good as any in its price range, and better than most.

Well, all I know is that the manufacturer is Springfield Armory and the model is .30-60 - probably M1903
I'm not sure if the BUSHNELL TROPHY SCOPE can be mounted on that rifle and if yes what mount do I need. I found a mount kit from Springfield Armory (M65038 M-6 Rail Kit or MA5038 1-Piece Base M-1 Rail Kit) but I'm not sure if it's compatible with that rifle.
thanx for your help

I have several of these rifles and have had them drilled and tapped by a gunsmith to accept a 1Piece redfield or leupold mount. All you need then is a set of rings to couple your scope to the mounts. Any decent gun shop should be able to help you. Some would faint at the drilling and tapping of one of Americas favorite bolt actions. If this is a concern there were mounts made by a company called SK that did not require the gunsmith work if you can find one.I'm sure there are more options but the picture apears to be a sporterized 1903...I'd drill and tap it. Hopefully this helps.
