WILL A BARSKA HUNTMASTER HOLD UP ON MY 20GUAGE 870 REM.

I was sold a barska huntmaster pro to put on my 20 guage. The sales asc. told me that it was more than tough enough to hold up to a shotgun. Stupid me i bought the lst one they had out of the the show case but in my defense i got it real cheap. To make a long story short it till not hold any type of patern and i think it may have been droped prior to my purchase. The store will replace it but is that going to a waste of my time.

Anytime you buy a scope in that price range, you run a much higher risk of a defect, right out of the box, than even a mid-range price scope and it really doesn't make much difference as to brand. A cheap scope is a cheap scope. One of the things you pay for on a more expensive scope is better contruction and definitely much tighter quality control. You might go back and buy the exact same Barska scope and never have a problem, but then, maybe not. It's always a crap shoot at that price. I would strongly recommend that you put up more money for a scope, whether it is a Barska or not. Even stepping up to the slightly more expensive Barska Ridgeline series will increase the odds of getting a reliable scope, not to mention getting better optics.
