How do these compare

Weaver V3 1-4x20mm
Leupold VX1 1-4x20mm
Nikon Monarch 1.5-4.5x20mm
Pentax Gameseeker 1.75-5x20mm

The Nikon Monarch is the brightest, and this is true in general comparing these scopes in any magnification level. The Leupold is probably the strongest, but does not offer click adjustments. Some folks won't buy one because of this, but it really doesn't make any difference. I would put the Burris in the same league as the entry level Leupold in brightness and alongside the Nikon in durability. You're kind of splitting hairs after that. Those three have the best reputation, and deservedly so. Pentax hasn't really ever been a contender, and who knows what Weaver has been up to with a bunch of owners lately.
