combination hunting / target

Postby ptarmiganptom on Mon Nov 02, 2009 5:05 pm

I am looking for a scope in the $300 - $600 range to go on my 7mm-08. I am looking to utilize this setup for both hunting and big bore silhouette shooting. I have researched scopes in this price range to the point i am more confused than when i started. I would like a variable magnification but understand that some have trouble holding zero at mid magnification. Some of the scopes i have looked at are the Burris Fullfield II tactical, Sightron SII and SII Big Sky, Pentax Lightseeker, Nikon Monarch. Any point in the right direction would be appreciated.

Hi,

Of these scopes, my recommendation is the Nikon Monarch. This series has excellent reliability and image quality for the price. Also check out the Zeiss Conquest and Leupold VX-3 scopes for other options in the same class of scopes.
Best regards,

Ryan W.
