Best scope under $250.
I am looking for a scope for my .308.
I would like to have a 3x-9x or 4x-12x, 40mm-50mm objective with a 30mm tube, also would like illuminated option on the cross hairs.
I am having trouble seeing anything the last 5mins of light (mostly hunt inside of woods). I figured with a better light gathering scope I could see these last 5mins.
Thoughts/comments?
Thank you!

Take a look at the Bushnell Trophy XLT 3-12x56mm. A 56mm will allow for the most light gathering ability. The 3-12 magnification is right in your range too. It has a illuminated 4A reticle which is nice to draw your eye in on the target especially with a dark background. Probably the best buy for around the price.

Re: Best scope under $250.
I have used Nikon, Bushnell, Burris, Mueller, Pentax, and Vortex scopes in the $300-500 price range. A new brand I just picked up is Alpen. I got the 5-24X50 and was very impressed with the generous eye relief, something that scopes in this price range may not have a lot of. At $320 the optic quality compared with the $450 Vortex models. The Alpen passed the box test with flying colors. You can really see a difference in optic quality when you go over 14-16X magnification.
Another scope in this price range that has really great optics is the Mueller TAC II. Neither of these have the illuminated reticule you want. Alpen does offer a scope with the illuminated reticule. The Alpen seems like a lot of scope for the money. You can find the Vortex Vipers on sale, 100-150 off normal street price makes then a real steal. I would recommend these two manufacturers over the others.
