looking for scope for .22 ar and 10/22

Postby redline8k on Tue Aug 07, 2012 5:37 pm

Ive been looking around for a scope I can use for an AR .22 and a 10/22 rifle. This will be mostly used for target shooting indoor from 25-75 yards. Here what ive been looking at.

Nikon 3-9x40 EFR target I like this because I can adjust the paralax to 25y. even though I dont know how yet.
nikon P22. 2-7x32 with the BDC although I like the other retical better I just dont know how to use it.

if anyone can give me insite on these two or other scopes i should be looking at that would be of great help.

Both are great choices. As long as you select a scope that is designed for use with .22's it will save you a bunch of headaches later on when you try to zero the scope for use a shorter ranges. Most rimfire scopes are zeroed for 50 yards or less in the case of adjustable objective or side focus models. I really like the newer Nikon P-22 with BDC in the event I want to do some longer range shooting. The biggest obstacle you will have is the mounting height. Assuming your AR is a flat top platform, you will require Extra Hing rings, and the 10/22 scope will mount traditionally as low as possible (with either of these scopes, that would require Low rings)
