New Remington 700 VTR - Need scope advice please.

Postby K6RIC on Wed Mar 06, 2013 12:37 am

New owner of a Remington 700 VRT in 308 and considering a Leupold VX-3 3.5-10x40 for it. Rifle to be used for target and hunting (pig, deer and maybe Elk). Kind-of one gun for all activities. Would the glass and rifle make a good pair and if not, what would you recommend? Also considering a one piece rail mount. Open to suggestions for mount and rings. As far as reticle, leaning towards Boone but also like Varmint Hunter. Your help highly appreciated!

that would be an excellent compliment to your new rifle! Leupold makes some of the finest optics and keeps the prices down. You cant compete with their customer service as well, absolutely top notch. For your uses my choice would be the B&C reticle, big fan of it. I'm also a fan of the EGW bases. A nice rail base really lets you get the most customizable eye relief and ring placement. Those can take any weaver style or picatinny style rings. Leupodl has the PRW rings that would be a nice fit for that setup, 1'' low height.
