Kahles K624i or S&B 3-20x50 PMII

Postby MuratC on Thu Apr 04, 2013 2:45 pm

I'm in between these two highend scopes.

Kahles K624i 6-24x56mm
Schmidt & Bender PMII 3-20x50mm

It will be used on a bolt action, 308 rifle for target shooting. Anyone has any experience with both scopes?

Thank You

We've played with both here before, but not on guns. The S&B has a deserved reputation as one of the best, but the optical quality of the Kahles is certainly equal. If you're just target shooting, the slightly higher magnification on the Kahles would be beneficial. If you have any need to shoot quickly at a closer distance, the lower magnification on the S&B would outweigh the higher power on the Kahles. A wide field of view and quicker target acquisition at 3x s much more important than a little bit more magnification. Both are way too sexy for me. These are two of the best riflescopes ever made since the beginning of time. Superb. A similar long range .308 of mine wears a Zeiss Conquest 6.5-20 (certainly not the quality of either of your choices), since I don't plan on shooting this gun at closer than 100 yards. You can certainly feel the bulk of a gun wearing any of these scopes, though. Not something to carry around.
