I own a .450 Marlin lever action rifle. Other than using the installed iron sights, does anyone make a low profile scope or sighting device for this weapon? Presently, I have a red dot 30mm sight mounted which is too high unless I build up the cheek piece on the stock to be able to see through the sight. I want to use the rifle for hog hunting. Am I stuck with using the iron sights or can you suggest something better?
The best solution, other than building up the cheekpiece on your stock, is to go with a small, low power variable riflescope such as the Nikon Monarch UCC 2-7x32, http://www.opticsplanet.com/nikon-rifle ... -7x32.html on your 450 Marlin. This will give you enough clearance with low rings, which is as low as a scope can be mounted on your rifle.
