Scope For a Marlin 45/70 Guide Gun

Postby Cameldriver on Thu Dec 14, 2006 10:53 pm

Planning to spend $200. I want to buy a fixed power scope for my Marlin 45/70 guide gun. the kind of hunting that I do is in the Northeast brush wher shots over 80 yards are rare. I would like the scope to be short in length because the receiver on the guide gun is short - I was thinking in terms of about eight inches. What scope would you suggest.

Hi

It will put you a bit over your budget, but the 8" leupold Ultralight 2.5x20, http://www.opticsplanet.net/leupold-fx- ... .htmlwould be a great choice.

The Leupold Standard base #49987 (gloss only) and low rings #49897 would be an excellent fit for your scope.
