what is the best tripod for a camera with a 500m lens? Everything I have, the plastic gears strip out because of the weight.

Hello Mike,

Even the basic Bogen Manfrotto 3180N Tripod and Head Kit, are the worlds most used camera tripods. I would start here. Smile
