Eotech 557/4X Magnifier

1. What will be the total length of the combo?

2. What is the required rail length of the combo?

Hi,

The EOTech 557 unit is 5.7" long and the EOTech 4x Magnifier is 4.6" long, making the total EOTech 557 Package a length of 10.3 inches. You can mount this on an AR15 carry handle uning the EOTech 9-ARMS-2EXT Mount. The nose of the EOTech will hang over the edge of the rail, and your cheek will not rest on the stock to look through the unit. Best mounting for this in on a Flat Top with a Quad Rail or at least a rail that extends to the front sight mount of the rifle.

I was planning on mounting this combo on a PS90 Tri Rail. Combo will stick out on both ends on the top rail, IF there is enough room to mount.

How much mount space does the 557 and the Magnifier base require?

Hi,

Just spoke with the EOTech rep. The EOTech 557 with 4X Magnifier needs 5.5 inches of rail to mount together. The PS90 tri-rail has exactly 5.5 inches of rail. This combo will fit, but just barely.

Do you offer the 4X magnifier with any other Eotech's like the 552 or the 512? The length of the 512/552 is shorter than the 557, and it might be a better fit for the PS90-TR's upper rail. Required rail mount might be the same, but the forward overhang on the PS90 is decreased due to the shorter lenght of the 512/552.

Hi,

The EOTech 4x magnifier will work with any of the EOTech units. The thing that really separated the EOTech 557, is the controls are on the side so you can access them without flipping the magnifier out of the way. The EOTech 511 and 551 models both use the N cell battery, so they are shorter than the 557 by an inch. The 512 and 552 models still use the AA batteries and are essentially the same length as the 557.

Hello,

From the following picture, http://www.opticsplanet.net/picture-1-eotech-mpo-multi-purpose-optic-holographic-system-hws-557-4x.html , there seems to be and "extra piece" in between the 4X magnifier and the 557 to fill in the air gaps.

Will this "extra piece" be included with the 557/4X magnifier package?

Hi,

As far as I know, this is what the complete EOTech 557 4x package will look like. Unfortunately, final release information is not yet available at this time. This unit is not expected to be released until mid to late Fall, so we will have to wait and see what the final product will include.

Not yet. I have been told by our EOTech rep that the EOTech 4x Magnifier is currently shipping, but the 557 unit itself is not shipping yet.
