I am interested in acquiring a Mil Spec ITT PVS-14 GEN III, OMNI VIII, or "autogated" Night Vision Device.

Would you kindly address both the availability and cost of this technology? I would let to purchase as soon as this product is available. I do not want either a "return," "rebuilt," etc.

Have the autogated tubes fallen into disrepute?

From my research I have found that non-autogated NVDs have a life expectancy of 20,000+ hours and that autogated NVDs have a shorter life expectancy of 15,000+ hours. Let me be the first to state that the 5,000 hour difference between these tubes means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to me. If I can exceed 15,000 hours of use then I will expect to purchase another tube.

I really would like to purchase an "autoplated" unit. Is there no one selling these tubes that have been produced by ITT?
