For those of you that own (or are thinking of owning) a Bushnell Northstar Go-to telescope:

I revised the .pdf version of the Bushnell Northstar manual covering model #'s 78-8840, 50, and 90. I cut-out everything but the English version. In addition, I added narrative from various posts (proper credit given) regarding correct alignment and miscellanious pointers concening the Go-To operation in the "Notes" section at the end of the manual. The file is between 5-6 megs in size.

I would be more than happy to e-mail a copy to anyone interested.

Thanks,
Lock

Hi

That's very generous of you. Just to add a note. The original manual does have some errors, so this is a worthy offer if anyone has just purchased a Northstar.

Lock, I am interested in receiving a copy of the manual.
Can you please send it to 'bushnellmak@yahoo.com'?

Also, there used to be quite a bit of activity regarding the
127mm Mak when it first came out, but the volume has fallen
off quite a bit.
The Northstar does take a bit of patience and work to get the Go-To working but, for the money, it is worth the effort.

There is also a YAHOO group that has quite a few members but, again,
the volume has fallen off there. I am sure that all of the members would be interested in seeing your changes, and you are more than welcome to
join.
Look in Yahoo groups under 'BUSHNELLSCOPES'.

Thank you,
I am in desperate need of a better user manual. I just received a Northstar for Christmas but, so far the only object that I've been able to view is the Moon manually. I can't get it to align itself with the directions that it came with thus making the computerized portion worthless so far. Please email me at sasellers61@hotmail.com.

Thank you again Very Happy

I got a Northstar 8831 for Christmas. Would this manual be helpful for this model as well? I believe it uses the same computer. I have had no luck getting the alignment working. That makes it really hard to manually track Saturn!

Can you please send the PDF to effinay@woh.rr.com?

I recently bought a Bushnell Northstar for my husband and he is having no success with the computer handset at all. From all the postings this seems to be a common problem.
Could you e-mail your revised manual to my e-mail address @
val_homson@tiscali.co.uk
I would be most grateful.
