I would like to buy a microscope for my husband for Christmas. He should live outside, and has many animalistic characteristics! His hobbies include indian artifacts, hunting, fishing, night vision, and coyotes. Can you offer some choices?

Hi

For examining rocks, bugs, dirt and other large specimens, a stereo microscope gets the nod. No need to make prepared slides. Just set the specimen on the stage and observe. The LOMO stereoscopes are great choices, here. Try the SF-50BS (up to 48x), http://www.opticsplanet.net/lomo-sf-50-microscopes.html or the SF-100BS (up to 98x), http://www.opticsplanet.net/sfstermic.html
