I would like to purchase a tripod for my son for Christmas. He has a 35mm camera which he will be using as the only object on the tripod. My dollar limit is $100 and I want to get the best buy for my money. Some advice I got was to get a heavy sturdy tripod with possibly a ball head. What would be your suggestion as to my best buy for the money?

Hi

You won't get a ball head tripod for that price. Best tripod for the money is the Nikon 848 or the Bushnell 784040. These will run a bit over $100, but are well worth it.
