Post subject: Golf viewing
I want to watch golf from a house on a course with a view of 3-4 holes. Prefer not to have tripod. Suggestions?

Hi
You can use a conventional 10x or 12x binocular, but anything more than that will require the use of a tripod or other support.
Your other option would be an image-stabilized binocular such as the Canon 18x50,

or the Nikon 16x32,

You should be able to use that 10X fine. I cannot use a handheld 12X for any length of time. You may even want to consider dropping down to an 8X to increase your field of view and actually see all of the shot.
