Hi
I have been searching for a telescope for 2 months but have't come across the right one. I was thinking of buying a dobsonian 6" telescope. But the problem is that i desperately need a goto feature. Is there any dobsonian telescope with goto feature? And is 6" dobsonian good telescope to buy?
thanks

Hi

A Dob is my favorite design. It is simple, intuitive and quick to set up. A Dob easily is the most scope you can buy for your dollar.

Much of the fun in astronomy is learning to navigate the night sky on your own. This will take longer to learn than when using a computerized mount, but the results are worth it when you can find your way around the sky without even a star map. There is an immense satisfaction derived from knowing the night sky as well as you know your own backyard. A Dob will teach you this better than any telescope I know.

If you are really tempted to go with a computer, you need to look at another telescope deign. By the time you add a computer to a Dob (it can be done, but not easily) you will have more invested in it than a regular GOTO mount and it still won't work as well.
