Joanie,
I did go to the web page for this alternative. Please help me evaluate this one for the intended purpose. This will be a birthday gift (12/1 for a retired family member who is locating various family historical sites (family cemeteries, old homesteads, etc.) in the southeast, primarily the State of Georgia. These sites are many times rather remote requiring four-wheel drive to reach. The GPS needs to be able to record the exact location and prefer to have a way to give those coordinates a designated code, word or phrase to later identify which is which. Ease of use for a novice who gets bored after the second paragraph of an owners manual.
Thanks,
Any GPS unit has that ability. Those points of interest are called "waypoints" and even a basic GPS can store hundreds. More advanced units like the Brunton will also display maps and have options for downloading other maps and software and much more _________________ Thanks for posting with us
