I am looking to buy a miscroscope for my son. (and me)

My question is about the Meade 9260 Microscope. It has a 10x eyepiece. Is it possible to get a 2nd eyepiece (say a 50x) which would give me 3 new magifications? Is that how it works?

Also, how large is 400x? It would be nice to see examples of how large the magnification is on say a leaf or something.

Thanks,

Scott A. Holdsworth

Hi Scott

400x is more than you need for the average student lessons and a microscope becomes progressively more difficult to use as magnification goes up. Meade does not offer accessory eyepieces or objectives. If you want those options, try the LOMO P-111, which is a much better microscope for only a little more money.
