Velbon tripod

I have a 20+ yr old velbon VGB 3 #2627810 tripod and I would like to know if it can handle having a wimberley or jubo head on it along with my Nikon D50 with a 300mm afs F4 lens and 1.4 TC attached.

That would be hard to say without seeing your current tripod. We have no information on old Velbons or load capacity on Velbon tripods.
