I shoot a 270 for whitetail. I am looking for a nightvision scope that I can use to see to shoot out to about 80 yards. I am on a budget less that $1000. Will a gen 1 work or do I need a gen2. I would like to be able to see the antlers good enough to distinguish a 4 point from a 8 point if possible. Will you recommend a few scopes that will fit me.

Hi
A gen 1 will work if all you want to do is shoot deer at 80 yards, but don't expect to count points at that distance. That kind of detail will require a Gen 2 or 3. _________________ ----------------------

Most of my shots are around 50 yards. Would I be able to tell the size of the horns with a gen 1 at that distance instead of counting points? Will you give me some options on a scope? Most of my use for it will be 2-3 hours after dark, usuallly no moon. I looked through my friends gen 1 monocular and was disappointed with it. Does the IF light help much?
