Hi

Thank you for your interest in opticsplanet.com.

My search for a mount specific to your Smith and Wesson 40 has failed to turn up anything as of yet. However, it should be an easy matter for a gunsmith to adapt a trigger guard mount to your S&W.

Thanks
Joanie

I have been looking for the samething.I do own a trigger mounted laser system and it sucks.Take my advise don't waste your time and money on one. Laserlyte has the perfect mount for the Sigma if we can get them to sell it by itself.I have contacted them and waiting for a reply.Maybe if enough of us contact them they will sell the mount only.

Rob

If you need further info on the SW40VE leave a note here.

One other problem I have had is there is no safety on this model, other than the two piece trigger. The trigger spring is so heavy it is a bear to shoot for any length of time. I am replacing the spring to a 4.5 pound.
Hope that helps. The springs are from Wolff.

I have the exact same pistol as you do. I have been looking for a laser system also and I found one. Here is the link http://www.appliedlaser.com/mounts2.htm

This is the mount that is actually made specifcally for this pistol. I have yet to buy it. Money issues. But I will very soon. The only thing is if you want a light you do lose that function. also for a laser here is the link http://www.appliedlaser.com/beam.htm.

Hope it works for the both of us.

Rob,

I noticed that you mentioned you changes the spring to a wolf 4.5lb. Did this work and if so, any improvement on that trigger pull? I contacted S&W and asked the same thing and they told me that the springs could not be changed to lighten up the trigger. Can you let me know where I can get this done? Appreciate any feedback.

I just talked to the folks at LaserMate.com and they have a $45.00 laser and mount for the SW40 series tactical mount. It's the LS02-EC01-M1. They also have one with a blue LED light plus laser for $69.00 that is part number LS03-EC01-M4. They are much cheaper than the one from auto-laser. Not as fancy a switch, but functional. They would also be willing to sell just the mounts, if someone placed a large order - but not for one at a time.

The hard trigger pull is exactly why there is no saftey. The gun is designed for concealed carry and that is also the reason you are having trouble locating a non-triggerlock laser sight.

Good luck
