I have a Remington 721 that has had a different bolt put in at the factory. (Remington). It closes very hard and I have broken the bolt off.

It is now brazed back on but if this problem presists, it will break again.

Can I take some of the firing pin spring off to reduce this closing problem??

Hi

NO, take it back to the factory or at least a qualified gunsmith and have it done right. A bolt that closes to hard can be caused by a number of things, some of them dangerous.
